José Carlos Athanázio

José Carlos Athanázio was known primarily as the husband of Ieda Maria Vargas, the first Brazilian to win the Miss Universe title in 1963. The couple married in 1968 and had two children together, leading a relatively private life away from the spotlight that Ieda's pageant fame brought.
