José del Carmen Reyes

José del Carmen Reyes was the father of renowned Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, working as a railway worker. His efforts to steer his son away from poetry were ultimately unsuccessful, as Neruda went on to become one of the most celebrated poets in the Spanish language.
