José Edgardo Kamen Mejía

José Edgardo Kamen Mejía is a co-founder of the Asociación Protectora de Aves de El Salvador (APROAVES), a non-governmental organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and release of wild birds in El Salvador. He has been in the news following his arrest by the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR) on accusations of impersonating officials and other serious charges, which his family and supporters claim are unfounded.
