José Germán Sierra Pico

José Germán Sierra Pico, known by his alias 'Nico', is a former leader of Colombia's paramilitary groups, specifically the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AUC). He was involved in significant human rights abuses during the height of paramilitary violence in Colombia, which contributed to widespread land dispossession. Recently, his name appeared in the news as part of a report detailing how properties that belonged to him and other paramilitary leaders are still illegally occupied, hindering the reparations owed to victims of the conflict.
