José Jochi Ángel Gómez-Canaán is a Dominican entrepreneur and the owner of Aurix S.A.S., a company implicated in a corruption scandal involving fraudulent contracts for traffic light systems in the Greater Santo Domingo area. Recently, he made headlines when authorities provisionally seized his residence as part of an ongoing investigation by the Special Prosecutor's Office for the Prosecution of Administrative Corruption (Pepca), which accuses him of benefiting economically from these alleged corrupt practices. Gómez-Canaán's legal representation has confirmed that this seizure prevents him from selling or transferring the property until a final judicial decision is reached.
