José Juan Istupe

José Juan Istupe is the director of the Unidad de Conservación Vial (Covial) in Guatemala, where he recently announced a comprehensive road repair program that aims to address the growing issue of potholes across the country. Under his leadership, Covial plans to initiate 62 projects covering approximately 6,300 kilometers of roads, contingent upon the activation of electronic logs by the Contraloría General de Cuentas. Istupe emphasized the importance of these repairs for both agricultural and industrial sectors, while also detailing plans for future interventions and the urgency of maintaining the nation's infrastructure.
