José Luís Nunes is a physician and the current president of the Municipal Assembly of Funchal. He was recently in the news for admitting that he is considering withdrawing his candidacy for the Funchal City Council due to personal issues, despite being previously selected by the PSD party to lead their list in the upcoming municipal elections.
