José Luis Russo
José Luis "Pete" Russo was a prominent Uruguayan footballer known for his defensive prowess. Russo was a key player for the Uruguayan national team, participating in the 1977 South American Championship where Uruguay emerged victorious. He had a successful club career, playing for notable teams such as Huracán Buceo, Peñarol, and Deportes Tolima. After retiring in 1993, Russo lived in Spain before returning to Uruguay, where he passed away in 2023.
