José María Acevedo Alzate

José María Acevedo Alzate was a Colombian entrepreneur and the founder of Haceb, a leading home appliance company. Born on August 2, 1919, in Medellín, he grew up in a humble family and pursued his passion for electricity from a young age. At 21, he opened a small repair workshop in a garage, which eventually grew into the successful enterprise known as Haceb. Acevedo was recognized for his strategic thinking and vision, prioritizing the well-being of his employees and their families. He passed away on October 27, 2025, at the age of 106, leaving behind a legacy of innovation and dedication to the Colombian industrial sector.
