José Moura

José Moura is a distinguished retired professor of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science and Technology at Nova University of Lisbon, known for his expertise in Bioinorganic Chemistry. With over 400 published articles, his research primarily focuses on proteins containing metal atoms. Moura has received significant accolades, including the Ferreira da Silva Prize from the Portuguese Chemical Society, and he is a member of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences and the European Academy of Sciences. Currently, he serves as the Director of the Faculty's Library, where he has been instrumental in promoting cultural activities, including curating art exhibitions. He recently appeared on the podcast 'Mais Lento do que a Luz' to discuss chemistry, scientific culture in Portugal, and his initiatives at the library.
