José Norberto Uzal is a Spanish businessman who served as the CEO of Hafesa Energía, an oil company implicated in a major fraud scandal. He is currently facing trial alongside Alejandro Hamlyn and others, accused of participating in a scheme that defrauded the Spanish government of over 154 million euros in unpaid VAT from 2016 to 2019. Uzal's previous roles include serving as the Director General of Local Administration in the Xunta de Galicia, where he worked under the presidency of Alberto Núñez Feijóo. The prosecution has requested a lengthy prison sentence of more than 89 years for Uzal, reflecting the severity of the charges against him.
