José Pedro Salema
José Pedro Salema is a seasoned technician and manager, known for his extensive expertise in water resource management in Portugal. With a degree in Agronomic Engineering from the Instituto Superior de Agronomia and an MBA from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, he has dedicated years to the successful oversight of the Alqueva project, one of the largest irrigation schemes in Europe. As the president of EDIA, the company responsible for the development and infrastructure of Alqueva, Salema has been instrumental in addressing the challenges of water scarcity and agricultural sustainability in Portugal, particularly in light of the recent improvements in water reserves across the country.
