Josef Mysliveček (1737-1781) was a Czech composer and violinist known for his significant contributions to the opera and orchestral music of the 18th century. Often referred to as the 'Czech Mozart,' Mysliveček spent much of his career in Italy, where he gained fame for his operas and symphonies. His works reflected the transition from Baroque to Classical styles, and he was recognized for his melodic inventiveness.
