Josefina Crato is a notable figure in the history of Guiné-Bissau, recognized for her contributions to cinema and the documentation of the country's independence struggle against Portuguese colonial rule. She was one of the four students sent to Cuba in 1967 to study film, aiming to utilize the medium to capture the essence of the liberation movement and the post-independence era.
