
Josefina Villalobos Páramo
Josefina Villalobos Páramo, known affectionately as 'Finita', was the widow of former Ecuadorian President Sixto Durán-Ballén and served as First Lady from 1992 to 1996. Born in August 1924 in New York City, she pursued a nursing education at Roosevelt Hospital School of Nursing, where she met her future husband. They married in 1945 and had nine children together. During her tenure as First Lady, she oversaw the now-defunct National Institute for Children and Family (INNFA). Villalobos passed away at the age of 100 on February 24, 2025, having outlived her husband by nine years.
