Joseph 'C', who goes by the alias 'Yompi', is a 24-year-old member of the Barrio 18 gang with a criminal history that includes previous charges for illegal possession of ammunition. He was arrested by the Policía Nacional Civil (PNC) alongside other suspects while allegedly preparing to carry out an armed assault on taxi drivers in zone 1 of the capital. At the time of his capture, he was found in possession of a stolen firearm, further implicating him in gang-related crimes.
