Joseph Foraker

Joseph Foraker was an American politician from Ohio and the namesake of Mount Foraker, Alaska's second-highest peak. His contributions to the political landscape in the late 19th and early 20th centuries include serving as a U.S. Senator and Governor of Ohio. Despite his political achievements, he is perhaps best remembered in mountaineering circles for the mountain that bears his name, which presents significant climbing challenges due to its steep terrain and difficult glacier approaches.
