Joseph Hobson

Joseph Hobson is an English teacher at Hlíðaskóli in Reykjavík, Iceland, who moved to the country from Britain in 2013. He applied for Icelandic citizenship in early 2020 and received it a year and a half later without having to take a specific Icelandic language test. Joseph, who taught himself Icelandic through various means, has expressed concern over the differing treatment of citizenship applications, particularly regarding his colleague Roberto Luigi Pagani, who has a stronger academic background in the language.
