Josip Reichl Kir

Josip Reichl Kir was the chief of police in Osijek, Croatia, known for his commitment to negotiation and peace during a tumultuous time in the early 1990s. He tragically lost his life in 1991, shortly before the outbreak of the Croatian War of Independence, while attempting to prevent conflict between Croats and Serbs. His story, although largely forgotten, is now being revisited through the documentary film 'Mirotvorac', which highlights his efforts to avoid war and the circumstances surrounding his untimely death.
