Jovana S. was a 21-year-old woman from the village of Vrtište near Niš, Serbia. Tragically, she lost her life in a serious traffic accident in Montenegro while returning from a pilgrimage to the Ostrog Monastery. The accident, which involved a mini-bus that overturned, was attributed to the driver's fatigue and drowsiness. Jovana had recently completed high school and was employed at a local betting shop. She was in a long-term relationship, with plans for engagement, and had traveled with her younger sister for a vacation. The news of her untimely death deeply saddened her community, highlighting the profound impact of the tragedy on her family and friends.
