Jowen Olan Linga

Jowen Olan Linga, a Saamaka artist from Suriname, is renowned for his passion for wood carving, dedicating his work to preserving the traditional craftsmanship of the Marrons. Born in Lespaansi, he honed his skills in Manna, French Guiana, where he learned under the guidance of artist Paul Woei. Linga has participated in numerous exhibitions, showcasing his art in various locations including the Nucluescentrum in Brokopondo, and has received accolades such as the Ereorde van de palm from former President Desi Bouterse.
