Joy Fiddler

Joy Fiddler is a 51-year-old resident of Sandy Lake First Nation in Northern Ontario who recently evacuated her home due to a devastating wildfire that engulfed the area. She described her harrowing experience as she fled, recalling that all she could see was orange smoke before her family traveled over 1,500 kilometers to seek refuge in Cornwall. As one of the evacuees, she highlighted the challenges faced by her community amid the ongoing wildfire crisis.
