Juan Alfaro
Juan Alfaro is a former president of the National Learning Institute (INA) in Costa Rica. He has also served as the Deputy Minister of Labor, Deputy Minister of the Presidency, and Deputy Minister of Finance under President Carlos Alvarado. Appointed by President Rodrigo Chaves to lead the INA, Alfaro was later dismissed in August 2024 due to unsatisfactory results in a bilingual education strategy. Recently, he made headlines by filing a constitutional challenge against legal articles that restrict the amount of contributions to luxury pensions, seeking to increase the deduction cap from 50% to 60% to promote greater public savings.
