Juan Arnez Salvador is a retired Vice Admiral of the Bolivian Navy who was involved in the controversial events known as the ‘Zuñigazo’ that took place on June 26, 2024, during which he, alongside another military officer, took control of Plaza Murillo. Following these events, Arnez was initially sent to the Chonchocoro prison but was later transferred to the San Pedro prison in La Paz. He has sought to summon high-ranking officials, including President Luis Arce, as witnesses to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident and to establish accountability within the military's command structure.
