Juan Carlos Alvarado Quesada

Juan Carlos Alvarado Quesada is a prominent Costa Rican politician and public servant who served as the President of Costa Rica from 2018 to 2022. A member of the Citizens' Action Party, he focused on issues such as social development, environmental sustainability, and economic reform during his presidency. Following his term, he was appointed as the director of the Servicio Nacional de Guardacostas (National Coast Guard Service) in January 2023, where he oversees maritime safety and security operations in Costa Rica.
