Juan Carlos Flores

Juan Carlos Flores is a prominent Costa Rican art critic and journalist, currently serving as the president of the Costa Rican chapter of the Asociación Internacional de Críticos de Arte (AICA). He is an advocate for artistic freedom of expression and has been instrumental in promoting art criticism in Costa Rica, a country that lacks sufficient platforms for such discourse. Under his leadership, AICA Costa Rica has focused on professionalizing art criticism through training and establishing guidelines for critics, while also expanding their outreach through digital publications and public events, such as the Aula Encendida lecture series.
