Juan Manuel Besnes e Irigoyen

Juan Manuel Besnes e Irigoyen was a self-taught painter, draftsman, and calligrapher of Basque origin who settled in Montevideo. He is recognized for creating one of the earliest interpretations of Uruguay's national coat of arms shortly after its official establishment.
