Juan Voelker

Juan Voelker is an economist who served as the director of Financial Resources for the Intendencia of Montevideo during Daniel Martínez's administration from 2015 to 2019. He was tasked with improving the financial management and accountability of the municipality in the aftermath of a previous administration, successfully implementing strategies that initially led to surpluses. However, his tenure also faced challenges as the city encountered budget deficits in subsequent years, particularly during the pandemic and the transition of leadership to Carolina Cosse and later Mauricio Zunino.
