Judith Bretherton

Judith Bretherton, known as Lady Guthrie, was a significant figure in the arts community in Ireland, serving as the wife of renowned theatre director Sir Tyrone Guthrie. Together, they lived at Annaghmakerrig House, which they transformed into a creative retreat for artists. Following their deaths in the early 1970s, Bretherton's legacy continued through the bequest of the estate to the Irish State, fostering artistic collaboration and inspiration.
