Juliane Diller
Juliane Diller, formerly known as Juliane Koepcke, is a German ornithologist and notable survivor of one of aviation history's most remarkable accidents. In December 1971, at the age of 17, she was a passenger on Lansa Flight 508, which crashed in the Amazon rainforest after encountering severe turbulence and a lightning strike. Remarkably, Juliane survived a free fall of over 3,000 meters, managing to escape the wreckage and navigate through the jungle for eleven days before being rescued. Today, she dedicates her life to conservation efforts in the rainforest through her Panguana Foundation, advocating for the protection of the environment that once saved her life.
