Julio César Cu Cámara
Julio César Cu Cámara is the head diver of the Secretaría de Gestión Integral del Agua (Segiagua) in Mexico City. With over 42 years of experience as the world's only diver in sewage systems, he has witnessed a significant increase in waste found in the drainage system, particularly in the last 15 years. His work involves navigating through dark, hazardous waters to clear blockages, which have increasingly included PET plastic and other unusual debris. At 65 years old, he continues his work out of passion and a lack of suitable replacements, emphasizing the cultural issues surrounding waste disposal in the city.
