Julio Díaz Zulueta has been appointed as the new Minister of the Interior in Peru, succeeding Juan José Santiváñez following his recent censure by Congress. Previously serving as the Deputy Minister of Public Security, Díaz Zulueta is a retired general of the National Police of Peru with over 40 years of experience in public service, focusing on citizen security and community work. He holds degrees in Education, Administration, and Police Sciences, along with master's degrees in National Defense and Public Management. An accomplished author, he has written 'Relatos de Éxito de un Comisario' and has been recognized for his contributions to policing, including being awarded the title of Comisaría del Año in 2001.
