Julio Núñez
Julio Núñez is a worker from the Chaco region of Paraguay who was recently in the news for his heroic effort to escape rising floodwaters. Along with two colleagues, he undertook a grueling three-day trek through water and mud to reach a police station in María Auxiliadora, approximately 120 kilometers from their workplace at Estancia María Elena. Their journey was driven by the urgency to return to their families amidst a severe economic threat and the dangers posed by continuous torrential rains that had rendered their work and safe passage impossible.
