Juraj Turzo

Juraj Turzo was a prominent figure in the early 17th century, known for his role as a powerful nobleman in Hungary. He was a successful businessman, engaging in the export of metals and ores from Slovakia to various parts of Europe and beyond. Turzo is best remembered for commissioning the Sobášny palác in Bytča, a Renaissance building designed to host grand weddings for his daughters, reflecting the cultural shift towards opulent celebrations during the Enlightenment era.
