Justus Karl Hasskarl

Justus Karl Hasskarl was a German botanist noted for his contributions to agricultural botany during the colonial era. He was the first to successfully transport cinchona plants from the Andes to Indonesia using the Wardian case, which enabled the large-scale production of quinine and facilitated European expansion into tropical regions.
