Kaiyrzhan Zhaksymbetov

Kaiyrzhan Zhaksymbetov is the akim (mayor) of the Ili district in Almaty region, Kazakhstan, having been appointed to the position in November 2024. Before his current role, he held various leadership positions within the local government and served as vice president of the agricultural enterprise 'Saryarka' in Taraz. His recent appearance in a video, where he failed to answer a journalist's question and departed in his vehicle, sparked widespread discussion among citizens regarding the accountability of elected officials.
