
Kalju Kivi
Kalju Kivi was a prominent Estonian film artist, director, and screenwriter, renowned for his contributions to animation and film production. Born in 1949, he graduated from Tartu Art School and the Estonian State Art Institute, later becoming a notable director at Nukufilm and the chief artist at the Estonian Puppet Theatre. Over his career, he directed 12 animated films and worked on numerous feature films, with notable works including 'Nimed marmortahvlil' and '1944'. In recognition of his artistic achievements, he received the Order of the White Star, Class V, in 2004. Kivi passed away at the age of 74, leaving behind a legacy in the Estonian film industry.
