Kamelija
Kamelija is a courageous Romanian woman who, in 1988, undertook a perilous journey to swim across the Danube River to Serbia in pursuit of love. Faced with bureaucratic obstacles and the oppressive regime of Nicolae Ceaușescu, she made the bold decision to escape her homeland, risking her life for a chance at happiness with her beloved Vlada. Their love story, marked by determination and resilience, exemplifies the lengths one will go to for love, as Kamelija navigated numerous challenges, including imprisonment and family turmoil, yet remained steadfast in her belief that she had made the right choice.
