Kanathil Jameela

Kanathil Jameela was a prominent Indian politician and member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) who represented the Koilandy constituency in the Kerala Legislative Assembly. Born in Kuttiyadi, Kozhikode, she had a long career in local governance, serving as the president of several panchayats and making significant contributions to women's issues as a leader of the All India Democratic Women's Association. Jameela was known for her simple and humane approach to leadership, which earned her widespread acceptance among her constituents. She passed away at the age of 60 after battling cancer.
