Kanouitié Djakariayou, a 44-year-old migrant from Mali, has emerged as a key witness in a human trafficking trial concerning the exploitation of seasonal workers in the French champagne industry. He described the inhumane living conditions he and his fellow workers endured during the 2023 harvest, where they were crammed into a dilapidated house with inadequate facilities and poor food.
