Karl Doenitz

Karl Doenitz was a German admiral and key naval commander during World War II, who succeeded Adolf Hitler as the head of state for a brief period following Hitler's suicide. Known for his role in submarine warfare, Doenitz oversaw the German Navy's operations and ultimately authorized Germany's unconditional surrender to the Allied forces in May 1945.
