Karol Balázs
Karol Balázs was a 12-year-old boy who, during the Holocaust, was interned along with his family in a brick factory in Košice, Slovakia. His poignant letter to a friend reflects the harsh conditions faced by him and thousands of other Jews during their forced gathering before deportation to concentration camps. Tragically, Karol and his family were later deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau, where they perished.
