Kasatka

Kasatka

orca Unknown

Kasatka was a female orca at SeaWorld known for her intelligence and complex behavior, but also for her violent encounter with trainer Ken Peters in which she pulled him underwater for an extended period. Despite her capacity for aggression, Peters believed she did not intend to harm him fatally. Kasatka was eventually euthanized in 2017 at the age of approximately 40 due to complications from pneumonia, marking the end of her controversial life in captivity and raising ongoing discussions about the ethics of keeping orcas in aquariums.
