Katia Krafft
Katia Krafft was a renowned French volcanologist known for her pioneering research in the field of volcanology, particularly her work on explosive eruptions and volcanic hazards. Along with her husband, Maurice Krafft, she documented numerous volcanic eruptions, capturing both their beauty and danger through stunning photography and film. Tragically, her life was cut short in 1991 when she and Maurice died in a volcanic explosion while studying a volcano in Japan.
