Dr. Katie Page is an associate professor of medicine and pediatrics at the University of Southern California, where she also directs the Diabetes and Obesity Research Institute. Her research focuses on the effects of artificial sweeteners, particularly sucralose, on appetite regulation. In a recent study, she found that sucralose may confuse the brain's hunger signals, leading to increased appetite, thereby challenging the perception of its effectiveness as a weight management tool.
