Katya Wang

Katya Wang is a former program governance and reporting officer for Transport for NSW, who gained media attention during an anti-corruption inquiry led by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC). She admitted to being in a romantic relationship with Ibrahim Helmy, a fugitive accused of orchestrating a kickback scheme involving the awarding of significant government contracts. Wang testified that Helmy had provided her with cash benefits amounting to $6000, which she stored at home. Her involvement in the inquiry sheds light on the alleged corrupt practices within the agency and the broader investigation known as Operation Wyvern.
