Dr. med. Keita Rotko-Prizela is a retired physician and the daughter of renowned painter Mark Rothko. Born and raised in New York, she studied at Brooklyn College and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, earning her MD in 1978. Throughout her medical career, she practiced clinical pathology and transfusion medicine until 2009. Keita gained significant attention for her legal battle to recover her father's paintings, which were sold posthumously against his wishes. After nearly a decade of litigation, she successfully reclaimed over 650 works and has since dedicated herself to preserving and promoting her father's legacy, including significant donations to the Mark Rothko Museum in Daugavpils, Latvia.
