Kenan Tevfik Erim

Kenan Tevfik Erim (1929-1990) was a prominent Turkish archaeologist known for his extensive work in the ancient city of Aphrodisias. Born in Istanbul, he dedicated over three decades to the excavation and reconstruction of this significant archaeological site, which was dedicated to the goddess Aphrodite. His efforts helped preserve the cultural heritage of the region, and he was laid to rest in Aphrodisias, fulfilling his wish to be buried among the ruins he helped uncover.
