Keshawpersad Goerdat

Keshawpersad Goerdat is an internist-nephrologist in Paramaribo, Suriname, who was recently in the news for allegedly accepting substantial payments from kidney transplant patients, amounting to over 50,000 euros, without the knowledge of the Academic Hospital Paramaribo or the Ministry of Health. While he claimed these payments were a form of 'guarantee' for potential issues, the situation led to public criticism from Health Minister Amar Ramadhin, especially given Goerdat's political ambitions and his previous criticisms of the health ministry.
