Kfir Batat is an Israeli economist and deputy head of the budget department at the Ministry of Finance. He was recently in the news for his critical analysis of a controversial exemption law regarding military service for the Haredi population, arguing that the proposed sanctions would not effectively increase enlistment rates and could negatively impact the Israeli economy.
